My name is Brie, and I like to travel to faraway worlds in my mind. So I started creating my own.
I write character-driven speculative fiction novels focusing on heavy themes like moral conflicts, mental health issues and toxic relationships. My current projects draw heavily from video games and classic cyberpunk elements. Love stories about AI, transhumanism, badass women and the slow collapse of society as we know it, have I got a tale for you.
My current project, Champions of Mars, is about cyberpunk gladiators on Mars. Technically it’s a bit more complex than that, but if I’ve got your attention with that much, I’m doing my job well. I’m still in the early stages, but I’ll be sharing some of my process, snippets, and lessons learned on Twitter along the way. And some day, you’ll see it on the shelf (even if that shelf is just the bookshelf in my apartment. That counts, right?).
I love stories that have compelling characters, immersive worlds, and the tendency to make you question your life choices. Some of my favorites include 1984, The Circle, Flowers for Algernon, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Mass Effect, Full Metal Alchemist and Avatar: the Last Airbender. I also love good food, tea, cosplay, and fountain pens.
